He made the long drive from Philadelphia to North Carolina to meet her for the first time. They both described it as love at first sight. Instant connection, after days and weeks of solely long-distance calls and messages. Their eyes first met at The Katharine Brasserie & Bar inside the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel. & Just like that, their story was born.
He would propose on Christmas Eve in Center City, Philadelphia. Amidst the Christmas Village, filled with magical sights and sounds, beautiful lights, and the most wonderful array of Christmas trees. She felt like a star in a movie, and he finally felt whole.
They would go on to plan a day no one would be able to forget, no detail left untouched. Pristine memories for ages to come.
Lena entrusted the details of this day with her closest, most beautiful, loved ones who are a special part of her life. A romantic garden vibe with soft hues of gold and delicate lighting. She explored their home cities for unique items to incorporate and make the day truly theirs.
Spero & Lena’s ceremony took place at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, with reception following at the Hellenic Center.
Lena grew up in this church; it was the same church her parents were married in. The most sentimental touch. Following tradition, vows are not exchanged, as the bride & groom’s commitment is to God, and they do not face each other, but instead face the alter. A symbolization of facing their marriage toward Christ. Spero & Lena’s ceremony was immensely special and sacred.
The Tsoflias’ favorite tradition during their ceremony was the crowning of the bride & groom. During this moment, “Stefana”, which are Greek wedding crowns, are joined together to symbolize unity and are blessed by the priest. They are crowned the king and queen of their home, and their home will forever be run with love and faith.
Spero & Lena’s favorite part of their day was seeing their love celebrated, and they are so thankful they genuinely and intentionally took the time to breathe and soak every moment in.
& their most anticipated part of their future is growing together and creating a family.
It was an honor to be a part of this enchanting day, and a small part of their story that will undoubtedly become a wonderful book as they add many, many pages for all of their days.
